Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes the way in which Eddii.inc (the “Company”) collects, uses, and discloses the information we collect through our mobile software applications (the “Eddii App”), Eddii websites or other web applications (our “Sites”), devices that you choose to connect to our Services to help you track your activities, such as third-party devices that measure continuous glucose (CGMs) or other glucose measuring devices (“Connected Devices”), physical activities, weight and sleep, and together with the Eddii App (“Services”).  Our Services help you to stay healthier by helping you track your activities, what you eat, your medications, feelings and other relevant health data such as blood glucose levels in order to enhance your ability to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Our Services collect, use and disclose information about adults, parents and their children who have an Account through the Eddii App.  Our services are directed towards adults, parents and their children, collectively referred to as “User.”

Please read this Privacy Policy closely.  By using the Services, you agree to the handling of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

 

Services we provide

Services the company provides to its users include, but are not limited to:

  • Tracking of user health data and recognizing health patterns

  • Engaging user with games and rewards to enter lifestyle data

  • Providing nutrition and mental health support 

 

How we collect personal information

  1. Information users provide to us

We collect information that Users provide when using Our Services, including when Users: 

      1.  Create an Account, 

      2. Sign up for Our Services, or 

      3. Contact us with a question, comment or request

   2. Users

Users are asked to provide certain information about themselves when registering for an Account, including: 

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Username

  • Type of diabetes

  • Medication delivery method

  • Age range

  • Meal times

  • Target blood glucose range

We will not ask for a User’s name, specific age, social security number, address, zip code or any other specific information that will readily identify the User.  

If the User is concerned that the information requested during registration and thereafter is sufficiently unique to identify the User, then the User should not use the Eddii App. 

Information we collect from the Users

Analytics: We collect information directly from users of Services in the form of the actions they take and activities they complete when using Our Services.  For example, we may collect information about patterns of usage, which activities are commenced and completed, when an activity is stopped and which areas of Services are most frequented. 

We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about use of the Services and report on activities and trends. This service may also collect information regarding the use of other websites, apps and online resources. You can learn about Google’s practices by going to www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/, and exercise the opt-out provided by Google by downloading the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

​Information User Posts: We also collect the information you actively post when using our Services, which may include insulin doses, blood glucose readings (whether directly entered or transferred via a Connected Device), food entries, feelings, messages on the chat platform and notes that you create to accompany your entries.

Third Party Applications: You may have the option of integrating your Eddii account with Apple Health or Google Fit and third party applications that integrate with Apple Health or Google Fit. If you choose to do so, we may request your permission to access Personal Information about you from Apple or Google and from third party applications. We cannot access this information without your permission.

Communications: We will collect information you provide when you communicate with us, such as any communications you send to customer support. We will also collect information that you may submit as part of participation in a promotional event.

 

How we use your information

To Provide Our Services: We use your Personal Information to provide the Services’ functionality to you, including arranging access to your account and providing customer service.

We will engage in these activities to manage our contractual relationship with you, and/or to comply with a legal obligation.

 

Communications: Your Personal Information is used to communicate with you, including by sending email messages, push notifications, or text messages. We may send administrative messages related to account management, customer service, system maintenance, or other related concerns. We will engage in these activities to manage our contractual relationship with you and/or to comply with a legal obligation. We may also use your Personal Information to send or to inform you about new features or products that we think you would be interested in. We will engage in this activity with your consent or where we have a legitimate business interest.

Aggregate Data: We may anonymize and aggregate Personal Information collected through our Services so that it will no longer be considered Personal Information. We do so to generate other data for our use, which we may use for any purpose, as it no longer identifies you or any other individual.

We may also use information collected from Users for the following reasons: 

  • To permit you to register and use the Services

  • To provide you with appropriate customer service

  • To send you marketing communications that we believe may be of interest.  You can always choose to stop receiving these marketing messages by simply following the instructions contained in the message.  For all Accounts, you may not opt out of receiving administrative messages from us; such as password reset emails and customer support messages.

  • To respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests, retrieve your password or provide technical support

  • To allow us to assess and improve the Services

  • To maintain and analyze the functioning of the Services

When we disclose your information

We will only disclose information to third parties under the following circumstances:

  • Subject to Confidentiality Agreements, the terms of this Privacy Policy and applicable law, information may be disclosed to service providers, potential transactional partners or other third parties in connection with the consideration, negotiation or completion of a corporate transaction in which we are acquired by or merged with another company, or we sell, liquidate, transfer or license all or a portion of our assets in bankruptcy or otherwise.  This means that if some of all of our assets are acquired or otherwise transferred or licensed, including in bankruptcy, that such acquirer shall be subject to the same commitments stated under this Privacy Policy.

  • We may also disclose de-identified and / or aggregate User information for any other purpose as permissible by applicable law – For example, the distribution of de-identified user records to outside researchers or the distribution of reports containing aggregate user demographics. 

  • Where legally required and in certain other cases, we may make such disclosures without first providing notice to Users. 

 

Account cancellation and data deletion

At any time, Users may cancel their Account by Contacting Us.  Upon Account cancellation, de-identified User information may nonetheless persist internally in our archive files or similar database, and may still be used, on a de-identified basis, for our internal support, administrative, and record-keeping purposes including, but not limited to, allowing us to improve the Service through research, evaluation and analytics as permissible by applicable law. 

 

Security

We do not ask Users for any unique identifiable information.  Nevertheless, the security of your information is important to us.  We use certain physical, managerial, and technical safeguards that are designed to protect the integrity and security of information that we collect and store.  Please be aware that we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.  Moreover, we are not responsible for the security of information you transmit to the Services over networks that we do not control, including the Internet and wireless networks.  If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us in accordance with the “Contacting Us” section below.

Changes to our privacy policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting the revised Privacy Policy on our Sites.
