Profile:

Dr. Adebola Giwa is a highly trained pediatric endocrinologist and physician-scientist at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he earned his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Chicago and his pediatric endocrinology fellowship at Johns Hopkins, where he now conducts research  focused on T1D, with a particular interest in immune cells related to T1D development.

Dr. Giwa participates in international missions and sponsors  a local Head Start program and continues to drive forward innovative diabetes research while supporting young scientists and underserved communities.
