Position title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About eddii

eddii is a digital health startup that gamifies and humanizes real-time glucose data. eddii offers people living with diabetes and their healthcare providers an engaging, AI-enabled platform that responds to real-time glucose and helps people better manage their diabetes. Through gamification and witty conversation, eddii becomes a smart, virtual health buddy, providing users with health reports and collectible in-app items.

The Role

eddii is looking for a seasoned CTO to partner with the CEO and founding team in building out our flagship product and to execute on its product and company visions. The CTO is responsible for turning our vision into reality and will build a core technical team. The CTO will lead all technology development efforts of the company, partnering with the founding team and the product and design teams to create a world-class product development culture that is highly adaptive, up-to-date and forward-thinking.

Responsibilities

Partner cross-functionally with the founding team and product development team to build the eddii product
Create a development roadmap that aligns with the team’s milestones and resources
Partner with product management and design teams to create world-class capabilities and deliver highly effective software tools and processes
Hire technical talent, lead and grow team effectively to fill any technical gaps, while being comfortable writing code directly
Oversee full stack product development, for both the front-end and back-end experience
Deploy strategies to ensure efficient product releases and iterations

Position requirements

10+ years of experience in a disciplined software technology environment
5+ years of experience leading and managing teams of 2-8 engineers
Have a personal passion for a world-class user experience within a high-volume and high-performance application
5+ years of experience in real-time data processing with a strong track record of success
Experience with Javascript frameworks, such as React
Experience with HIPAA compliance and handling tens of millions of real-time medical events in a secure and compliant environment
Experience with ingesting data from an API provider. Must be able to handle complex systems with interlinking dependencies
Experience in a high-growth startup building teams from the ground-up
Strong cross-functional experience partnering with design, UX and product teams
Excellent communication skills and user centric attitude
Demonstrated ability to be low-ego focused on finding the right solutions
Master degree in computer science or engineering
