Farhaneh Ahmadi, PhD, MBA

Chief Executive Officer

Farhaneh is a digital health visionary who has always believed in technology's ability to empower people living with chronic conditions.  She first thought of eddii when she started wearing a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM).  Farhaneh lives with T1D and understands what users go through day in and day out.  She founded eddii while doing her MBA at Harvard Business School, and formed the foundational ideas for a virtual health buddy who can provide support round the clock. 

 

Prior to her MBA, Farhaneh did her PhD in Biochemistry at Cambridge, where she studied the signaling pathways of innate immune cells, and her Masters in Immunology at Oxford.  She was also a consultant at Oliver Wyman where she focused on healthcare. She is an inventor on four international patents.

Alonso Lucero, MBA

Chief Operating Officer

Alonso has over 10 years of experience solving strategic and operational challenges for multiple leading payers, pharma, healthcare systems, and digital health companies. Alonso has experienced first hand the negative financial, emotional, and mental health impact of poorly designed and generic healthcare solutions. Hence, he is passionate about driving health outcomes and increasing health care accessibility through practical yet highly individualized solutions. 

 

Prior to joining eddii, Alonso worked for Monitor Deloitte and Strategy& PwC where he honed his analytical, strategic, and operational skill sets. Alonso has also worked with Kapor Capital and Rhapsody Venture Partners, where he focused on investing in businesses with a positive social impact. Alonso has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Masters in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University, with a concentration in Strategic Operations, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Kristen Mengwasser, MD, PhD

Chief Medical Officer

Kristen, a graduate of the MD-PhD program at Harvard Medical School, completed her residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  Before that she completed her Masters in Biochemistry at Cambridge University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard.  She is currently completing her fellowship at UCSF.  Dr. Mengwasser is a licensed physician in the state of California.

Bhrigu Adlakha

Chief Technology Officer

Bhrigu has fifteen years experience in Software Development and Data Engineering. He worked for companies such as Apple, Okta, Autodesk and Honda in various roles of their Engineering organization. He graduated from George Mason University with MS in Computer Science.

 

Bhrigu is passionate about digital health and wants to empower people who live with chronic conditions with better knowledge of how their lifestyle affects their health through software and data.

Valya Paneva

Lead Animator

Valya is digital artist experienced working in the gaming industry and educational media for children. She graduated from the New Bulgarian University majoring in Multimedia and Cinema, Visual Arts, followed by an MA in Animation and Cinematography.

 

After graduation, she started working on international project focused on art and animation for educational apps for children.  Valya wants to integrate her knowledge of interactive visual representation to help bring light to a product that helps people with chronic conditions have a rewarding experience.
